L’Oréal’s Sales Jump on Gains in China and E-Commerce

Skin care and hair care sales rise more than 20%.

Driven by gains in China and online sales, L'Oréal's first quarter sales rose 10.2% on a like-for-like basis and 5.4% on a reported basis to $8.66 billion at current exchange rates. Analysts were expecting a 9.3% increase in Q1 sales. Three divisions,  L’Oréal Luxe, Active Cosmetics and Professional Products, posted double-digit gains.
